Calvary Chapel Inland Humble Beginnings

Since 1994 Making His Love to Be Known...

In January 1994 a group of Christians began having home Bible studies in Mira Loma. The congregation of Jurupa Valley Christian Fellowship began by setting up a few lawn chairs in the living room for the adults, while the children met together in the garage. As the group increased it became evident the Lord was laying a foundation for an established church. Soon, they were looking for a building and found one on Martin Street in Mira Loma. In November of 2009, they became affiliated with Calvary Chapel and are now known as Calvary Chapel Inland.

An opportunity to purchase the building came about at the time when the economy turned bad. There were four liens on the building at the time and the owner had lost it. The property went from one lien holder to the next and then finally there were two liens. On a Sunday morning the new owner visited the church in order to put a sign out in the front to advertising that the building was for sale. The new owner walked around meeting people and viewing the grounds. He even stated for the church service. Here was man simply planning to sell the church without thought, but now sitting in the church service.

The message topic that morning was about how hard it is for rich man to enter the kingdom of God. This man was so convicted that he became an advocate helping us to purchase the building. He lowered the price from $200,000 to $125,000. Pastor Ruben went to see Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa/ Pastor Chuck Smith offered to pay for the note and hold the loan on the building, but the Lord decided that He would do it and get all the glory. Long story short, without any down payment the Lord was working and provided $20,000… and they now we own the building.

ALL GLORY TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!!
